Book Flight Tickets At Cheaper Rates

Book Flight Tickets At Cheaper Rates

When the demand is roaring high for the air travels and most of us valuing our time and comfort over the expenses, finding a pocket friendly flight is turning to nightmare these days. Here are some hacks and tips that may help you find a better deal for your upcoming flights and airline ticketing is not a rocket science anymore !

  1. Accept the fact that there is NO MAGIC FORMULA or short cut to find good deals. Being prepared to do some research will help you save some bucks.
  2. We suggest you utilize the Advance Reservation Period (ARP) deals to find cheaper rates for your upcoming travel by planning it in advance, may be, at least a five to six months prior to your required travel date. Most commonly the domestic airlines in India tend to put forth great deals and offers for the fund rolling during their so called off season.Trust us, there is no best option than this to pre-book your tickets at the best rates.
  3. Have you heard about Dynamic User Profiling (DUP)? No? DUP is a digital technique that the software uses to understand the user’s interest, demand, expenditure etc. to customize the rates that they offer you, using various cookies and tools built in your browser or device. Hence we highly recommend that you clear all your cookies, and the best if you can use Incognito mode or Private mode to search and research regarding your upcoming travel rates. The best, if you can use VPN or change locations, which makes these digital tools difficult to track your activities.
  4. Multi device research-booking may also help you find attractive rates. Say, you are researching from your desktop for a long time but reserving from your laptop or mobile logged in with different email id can find you tickets that cost a little bucks less.
  5. We suggest you search rates for one passenger or maximum two at a time, irrespective of number of co-travelers (Split search). There are multiple reservation class/codes as per IATA. By split searching, chances are high that you get different and attractive rates. Example, If you are searching for 6 passengers, the software is designed to show you the rates of the class that has higher availability. If category A has 2 seats at 100 rupees and category B has 8 seats at 150 rupees, the system will generate you rates of category B. However, if you search with minimal number of passengers, you will get few tickets in category A and few other in category B, which will in total get you tickets at lesser costs.
  6. We recommend that once you are at your early plans of travel, to start keeping a track of your desired route rates. You may choose the free facility that the Google provides you to ‘track flight rates’ and guess what.., it can even alert you when the rates go down !
  7. If you aren’t on a prefixed schedule, we’d recommend you to be a little flexible on your travel dates. Flexibility in travel dates can ensure you to best available rates during a plus or minus few days. If your travel is leisure, it is guaranteed that you will find the best rates during off season at your destination.
  8. Hack: The TUESDAY MANTRA ! In most cases, reserving your upcoming travel on a Tuesday early morning or between Wednesday noon, can find you attractive rates compared to other days of the week. (Thank us later 🙂 ! ) Similarly, it is, in most common cases said that we will find the best deals for flights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, compared to any other days in the week. You may also consider flying at early morning or during night in domestic sectors to get your tickets at attractive rates. However, in the international sector, the night flights tend to be expensive than the flights servicing during day time.
  9. We suggest you use portals like Skyscanner, Momondo like travel fare aggregators to understand the Online Travel Agents (OTAs) deals and fares. This helps you choose best portal to confirm your tickets with.In most cases, OTAs that do paid promotions (SEOs) on Google will not be able to provide you better rates than the fare aggregators.
  10. Not so common, but you may also try and find some offline travel agents who might have pre-blocked few seats or chartered a flight on certain busy routes. If you are lucky to find one, then sit back, because you will get the best deal during the high demand season. Plus, if there are any uncertain changes in your travel, then processing through the agents will be convenient for you as well. But please be informed, this can help you only if you are flying on busy and regularair routes.
  11. Non-Stop flights are cheaper ? Well, No ! Most commonly indirect flights, which we commonly call as, Connection Flights or Layover flights tend to be cheaper than the nonstop counterparts. Connecting flights can be of different types: (in the order of Rank 1 being expensive and Rank – being cheapest) : 1. Direct flights (#expensiverank1) 2. Connection without  change of flight (#expensiverank2) 3. Connection with short layover and change of flight thru busy airports (#expensiverank3), 4. Connection with short layover and change of flight thru semi urban airports (#expensiverank4), connection with long layover and change of flight (#expensiverank5), 6. Transit flight where you change airlines with long layover, what is commonly called as multi airline ticket (#expensiverank6)
  12. If you are not particular about the comfort of traveling luxurious and consider flying just as a time saving mode of transport from point A to B, then choosing a Low Cost Carrier (LCC) airline can save you a lot of money while booking your tickets.  In LCCs, unlike full-service airlines, they just provide you the need to flight transportation without any fancy services. If you want to enjoy the perks of flying, they come at a cost, from choosing your seat to food and beverages.
  13. From LCCs to full-service airlines, all aviators provide their loyalty program/frequent flyer program, some complimentary, some chargeable. If you have membership to such programs, even by purchasing an LCC flight ticket, you may upgrade it during the boarding process, subject to availability. If you are lucky, you get to travel in premium classes at the cost of just economy class.
  14. We suggest you to do a radius search for flights to understand the air schedule trends. At times, an airport that’s just an hour or two away from your town can find you cheaper rates than from the busy airport near you.
  15. Last but never the least, if your travel is confirmed for sure and that you don’t mind taking a bit risk of uncertainty, then reserving a non refundable flight ticket can get you guaranteed cheaper tickets while purchase. However, one should always keep in mind, that the future is uncertain and this might cost your entire cash paid for purchase of ticket, during cancellation.

Happy ticketing !
